Rope Accents in the Home

I've noticed some rope accents popping up in the design world lately. Obviously, the rope look goes right along with a nautical theme. Nautical theme fits right in with summer. The look is relaxed and casual, perfect for the cottage.

Here's a look at some furnishings and decorative pieces that are specifically rope-inspired. You may be surprised where rope shows up!

First, a few interiors using rope accents.

Rope Wall (How cool is that?)

Rope Handrail

Rope Suspended Beds

Rope Pendant Lights

Rope Mirror

Rope & Glass Coffee Table

Isn't that coffee table something else? I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.

And now, some rope-inspired furnishings...

Accent Cushions

Rope Balls

And just because I think these are so great, two rope necklaces from Anthropologie.

What do you think of using rope in the home? How about wearing it around your neck (in the form of a lovely necklace of course)?

  1. Haha! I like the arrows pointing it out in the rooms where it isn't so obvious... which makes me wonder how you found it to begin with!! You've got an eye for detail!

  2. Gorgeous! Those side tables were just lovely! Have a wonderful day, Kellie xx

  3. Hmmm, I'd have to say that I like it in small doses in the little details. Not so much in-your-face.

  4. That's just a great idea! I love single photo here! Thanks for sharing!

  5. It's definitely a good look, but I wouldn't want to dust it!! Think about that coffee table... such a fantastic, unique look, but can you imagine having to clean the rope? I suppose I have dust on the brain because of our never ending renovations (i.e., never ending dirt & dust piled up on everything and in every corner... I can't keep up!!)
Thanks for letting me rant. I feel better ;-)
P.S. I took another look at the coffee table and see that the rope is incased in the glass/lucite. I feel so much better for the owners of that table!!! ;-)

  6. Hi Sarah!
I am doing a round-up and came across your blog post - love every rope accent you have shown here! I hope you are keeping well and that life is good!
