Bits of Our Staycation Week

Here's a little peek at some of the fun we've been having this week. We've been enjoying summer!

The kids rode the carousel and train at Kinsmen Park. It costs $1/child/ride, so it's cheap fun. They wanted to go again and again. Grandma came along and was just as excited as the kids!

There have been trips to the park. Swings are always a favourite! (And I can actually get pictures of them on the swings. Otherwise, they're moving around too much.)

We are water logged and sun baked from all the swimming we've done this week. Avery especially loves the water, and I mean L-O-V-E-S it.

And of course there is summer food to be eaten. Some healthy, some not so healthy. All of it rather delicious though and easy to prepare.

We also took a trip to the Western Development Museum which the kids enjoyed, but we found ourselves saying, "No, you're not allowed to touch that!" a little too often. Catching up with friends old and new has also been happening throughout the week which is always lovely. We have a trip to the Berry Barn and a day at a small town fair still ahead of us. Summer is a wonderful time of year! This staycation has turned out pretty well.

  1. Sounds like fun! Sometimes it's much more relaxing to take a vacation at home!

  2. So much fun. I think staycations are the best, because you see and do things that are right in front of you, but so often overlooked! The corn looks amazing, BTW! Now I want BBQ'd corn for dinner :-)
